White roses in Spring

Historically, white roses symbolized innocence and purity, and perhaps the reason how it became part of weddings and bridal bouquets.
Till the white rose blooms again
You must leave me, leave me lonely
So goodbye my love, till then
Till the white rose blooms again.
- Nana Mouskouri -
The red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O, the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.
Truths and roses have thorns about them.

It will never rain roses!
What though youth gave love and roses -
Age still leaves us friends and wine

My life is part humor, part roses and part thorns

In the 14th-century the white rose was part of the heraldic sign of the Duke of York who faced off with
the red-rose Lancaster family, giving the renowned
War of Roses its name.
Love from South Africa
