Renovations

We received pieces of a broken light that was situated in front of our town hall.
Town hall in Harrismith built in 1907.  It commemorate the soldiers of the Anglo Boer war
It has been scattered all over our town.

Hennie started to renovate it!
Building a puzzle was at the order of the day!

Puzzle pieced together
The section that he started on was the top part that has the most wonderful curls and flowers in the design.

Still changes to fit every piece.

Almost there. . . . but there is some missing pieces

The painful task of welding the cast iron pieces together is in progress
Missing pieces has to be manufactured from old cast iron.

The first section is now in one piece.

Will keep you posted as this project progresses

We keep moving forward, opening new doors,
and doing new things, because we're curious
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

  1. This is so inspiring! What a challenging task of loving restoration of what appears to be a beautiful piece.
