Life in the slow lane

Over the years we have trade the fast pace and bright lights for something totally different.

The only bright lights at Kameel is the stars.
The sunsets are spectacular.
There is always birdsongs in the trees.
Our journey begins in 1980 in Pretoria.
At the end of 2009 we trade the fast pace and bright lights of bustling city life of Pretoria, for life in the slow lane. The road may be longer toward Harrismith but more peacefull.

Allow us to introduce ourselves.   Our names are Hennie and Sandra and along with our two sons, Pedri and Gerald-Cecil and our special daughter by marriage Lesinda.

Over the years we have made it our lives’ passion to turn the De Oude Huize in Harrismith into a rustic and breathtaking masterpiece by using our God-given talents to work.

In 2018 we started a new chapter when we moved to Kameel in North West.

Kameel is an old railway station and by heritage we become the custodians of a historic railway village named Kameel Huise Tussen Spore.

The stationmaster cottage.

You will find the Porter's cottage, the Ploegbaas's cottage, then there is the Laaimeester's cottage.

The Conductor cottage

We reside in the Voorman's cottage

Long term rentals are up for grabs on the railway cottages. This is ideal for someone looking for something different.
We hope that you will join us for a visit so that you too may enjoy an escape into a lifestyle left behind, not forgotten but rather cherished.
Blessings to you
Sandra Cronje nee Fincham
