At De Oude Huize Yard we love to bake, to can and to jam.
Today was the day for baking rusks.
The recipe has been with us since 1990.
We have adjust the ingredients to our and our guests liking.
It is a recipe passed down to us from Mrs Viviers living in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng
Set the oven on 180oC (350oF)
Mix the dry ingredients together and add the fruit and give a mix. |
Mix the dry and wet ingredients together
Press in a suitable greased baking tray |
Cut into blocks to your preference |
Or if you have one of these cutters use it for even blocks. Rebecca love to press the blocks into the pans |
Bake for about 45 minutes or till it is ready
Dry in an oven at 100oC (200oF)
