On my end of the planet the warm weather has started.
Over the last couple of days we have been spoilt with sunshine, showers and soft rain.
We have invested in an earthworm farm and all the waste that these worms consume leaves us with very little rubbish to send to the local rubbish site. From the worm farms we harvest the most wonderful compost. They produce an earthworm tea which is the best fertilizer for the garden.
We are fortunate to have an irrigation system through-out the premises and that helps to distribute the fertilizer in the tanks and it gets distributed evenly.
We plant Lisianthus seedlings every year and then sell the flowers as cut flowers. All the "not so good once" is for household use. I cannot wait for the harvest season from these little plants.
Today, Hennie is busy cutting out the crowns of the seedlings. As all the gardeners out there will know this encourage a little bush with three to five flowering stems.
We have also planted some Delphiniums as these are my all time favorites.
The veggie garden is not doing so well. The seedlings had an attack from insects so there is a lot of damage done.
